Athens Dear BrethrenThe early comers, the Young family and me and my wife had been met at the airportby dear Bro Sotiris Sakellarios and brought home. Noon time on the 3rd May hekindly guided us towards Plaka and surroundings and we had lunch together in alovely and delicious street restaurant. In the evening we went through Monastirakisquare to Kotili restaurant and dined and danced with superb greek musicperformers.The next day we met the Brewards and took a Hop on Hop off bus tour first insidethe city than to the east sea side after a lunch.The evening was the welcome dinner organized by our WM. It was a lovely eveningthrough we sat gathered on two different tables.The next day with taxis of 3-4 persons each we went to the National Gallery and thanto a lovely restaurant where once the famous musician Manos Hadjidakis wasfrequenting and playing as well.In the afternoon the Youngs, Turtons and Iris's continued the Hop on Hop off bustour with the Piraeus leg.The evening we all walked to Monastiraki Square and Kotili restaurant. However theBrewards and the Ivy's preferred to dine somewhere without music.The next day we went again by several taxis to Akropolis and its archeologicalmuseum and had a wonderful lunch organised by our WMThe evening Brethren of Omiros lodge and Sotiris has taken us to the temple whilethe ladies had been taken to Lalaounis jewellery museum and dinner at ZonarrestaurantAt the temple we attended a third degree raising ritual in Greek and WM offered usall a remembrance plaquette.The last day we all went to Poseidon temple at Sounion and than had lunch in alovely sea side restaurant.The evening was our farewell dinner again at the hotel and again in two tables.Brethren who would leave early made their farewells and we all departed to ourroomsThe next morning together with Susan and Alan Turton we went to Delphi andreturned back safely. Now with my wife Behiye we continue our ballade inPeloponnessos peninsula till next Sunday evening   Hotel: Our hotel of choice was the Titania Hotel Athens, 52, Panepistimiou Ave., Athens, 10678, Greece located at Panepistimiou Avenue, near Syntagma square, right in the heart of the historical and commercial centre of Athens, it is surrounded by the most important monuments such as the Acropolis, the New Museum of Acropolis, the Parliament, the Archaeological Museum, and the National Library. The Masonic Hall of Athens is just 1km away and there are two central underground stations 300m (Panepistimio) and 250m (Omonoia) away. The airport is accessible either by taxi (35min) or the underground (55min).
