I promise the lodge meeting will be different and you may need a translator, but it will be fun. Saturday 14 MayFree time to explore1500 hours Men meet at Waverley train station to Lime Kilns1630 hours Ladies meet in hotel to walk down to Waverley train station. Local coach to be arranged for short journey to Lime Kilns1630 Lodge at Lime Kilns with Elgin Bruce Lodge 10771900 -- 1930 we will dine together at historic Kings Cellar kindly hosted by Elgin Bruce Lodge.Return by coach to Ibis Hotel, Edinburgh at around 2300 hours Sunday 15 MayMeet at 0930 hours in the hotel for the coach at 1000 hours from hotel to Abbotsford which is the very charming and quirky home of Sir Walter ScottLunch at Abbotsford1400 hours we will take the coach to Rosslyn Chapel where we can join in a guided tour or for those who are revisiting an opportunity to discover yet more.1700 hours we will return to the hotel with our coach.1930 hours an evening buffet at The Royal Scotts Club which is a bus ride away. Monday 16th MayThe Royal Edinburgh Ticket Cost £49- 50 (£43-00 Concession) Price at January 2016.This ticket gives us fast track entry to The Palace of Holyroodhouse, The Royal Yacht and Edinburgh Castle for 6 months and provides with our transport for sight seeing for 48 hours on the open top tourist buses.1000 hours meet to catch the tourist bus to the Botanical Gardens not to be missed as they will be magnificent and very beautiful in May.From the gardens we will continue on the tourist bus to The Royal Yacht Britannia, the Queens decommissioned floating home.There is a good selection of restaurants and cafes at the centre, so feel free to eat first then visit the yacht or visa versa.We will return back to the hotel on the tourist bus where we will probably be so exhausted that we can meet in the hotel in the evening and grab a bite to eat there. Tuesday 17th May1000 hours A morning visit to The Palace of Holyroodhouse situated at one end of the Royal Mile is planned.Then we wander up the Royal Mile, pick up some lunch and have a look at Celtic Lodge rooms which is the oldest lodge building in Scotland.Using our tourist bus tickets we will then visit the Grand Lodge of Scotland building on Queen Street in the new town district of Edinburgh.1800 we will meet and catch an ordinary bus to take us to Dunedin Caritas Lodge 1361 where the men will have a short lodge meeting after which we will all dine together provided very kindly by Dunedin Lodge.. Wednesday 18th May1000 hours. No trip to Edinburgh can be complete without a visit to the Castle, after which we can all explore where we will.1900 hours and our grand finale. Just a short walk from the hotel is The City Cafe where the food is irresistible and there is a bar for those fancying a drink.Sue and I do hope you will all enjoy our Masonic trip abroad and hope you take home some souvenirs and fond memories of Scottish hospitality.
