The telephone number is 01206 578494.  In addition to quoting  "masonic lodge" when booking the following reference should be quoted "60169" Any problems the contact is the Deputy General Manager Wendy Harris. Initially 20 rooms have been set aside but more will be made available  if required. Members should book by 1 August.

The lodge will meet at noon on 12th October at Manningtree Masonic Hall, South Street, Manningtree, Essex

The speaker will be Richard Gan who retired in June 2010 as Deputy Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, and all the other various Masonic Orders administered from Mark Masons’ Hall, London. A senior Grand Officer in all the major Orders of Freemasonry, he is currently the Editor of The Square, an independent magazine for Freemasons.

Maureen Neller has made arrangements for the ladies the Saturday, - 12th October.   Sha has spoken to the people who organise the Town Tours. They start in the centre of town and take about one and a half hours, so it's suggested we do one from 10.30 to 12noon. The start will only be a short walk from the hotel. If you wish to join the tour it will cost £ 3.75, which should be paid to Brian Cozens, the Treasurer when your husband pays his account.A Guide can only take 20 people, so it is important to get the numbers right.

Beth Chatto's Gardens are also in Colchester, which is a short drive out from the centre of the town, or you should be able to get there on a local bus. Maureen will find out the number of the bus, and the frequency which they go from town. This may be something that you may want to do in the afternoon by yourself or with someone else who is interested.Flatford Mill, Constable Country, N.T., and Dedham are also a short drive out of Colchester, and well worth a visit if it is a nice day, and could be done in the afternoon. Maureen is sure we can organise cars to be available for us, if our husbands organise themselves with their cars, for their meeting in Manningtree. Maningtree itself is also a pretty town on the estuary of the River Stour. Also a nice afternoon trip.Maureen thinks the food in the Hotel is good, so it could be the place to eat at lunchtime.

If any member cannot get a booking at the George, the Red Lion is directly opposite and has 24 rooms. However the rates are slightly more at £84 B&B double and £76 single.
