Regulation 28 outlines the appointment process for Metropolitan Grand Superintendents and Grand Superintendents, which is a prerogative of the First Grand Principal. Appointees receive a Patent to exercise authority within their designated Metropolitan Area, Province, or District, and must be installed at the next Grand Chapter meeting to perform official duties, except for summoning the Chapter for installation. Regulation 28A details the appointment of a Deputy Grand Superintendent by the Grand Superintendent, who must be a current or former First Principal of a Chapter. The Grand Superintendent must inform all Chapters in the Province or District and the Grand Scribe E. of the Deputy's name and address within one month of the appointment. The Deputy can be invested in either a Provincial or District Grand Chapter or a private Chapter within the jurisdiction. These regulations ensure structured leadership within Masonic Chapters and maintain clear communication and authority.
